Roansy Contreras, a former top prospect for the Pittsburgh Pirates, has been designated for assignment by the Cincinnati Reds after being claimed off waivers from the Texas Rangers.
The Reds made this move to accommodate utility player Gavin Lux, acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers.
