In the recent season, Bains was recognized as a Big Sky All-Conference First Team player, recording a career-high 83 tackles and leading the conference with 14 pass break-ups. His performance included 8.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions, and a forced fumble and recovery. Bains' previous seasons included solid contributions, with 43 tackles in his junior year and 28 tackles in the year prior. His addition is part of Pitt's strategy to enhance their secondary, following the graduation of seniors Donovan McMillon and P.J. O'Brien.
